Fynboshoek offers artisan cheese-making demonstrations making mozzarella and/or cheddar. Watch as the cheese-maker transforms 220 litres of raw milk into cheese within hours. We will also teach you to make cheeses such as ricotta, halumi, cottage cheese as well as yoghurt. Please note that cheeses taught/ demonstrated may vary depending on the needs of the farm.
This is an opportunity to experience the daily rhythm and routine of the farm; to help connect the dots between where food comes from and finished products— knowledge so often missing in modern lifestyles.
Day 1: A short demonstration in the afternoon teaching you to make cottage cheese and yoghurt (for your breakfast on day 2) and then spend the night in our self-catering farm cottage.
Day 2: An early start to see the process begin, followed by a farmhouse breakfast. Then view the rest of the process before spending a lazy afternoon enjoying a delicious cheese lunch. One last night in the cottage still remains.
